383?

Ok i have a completly stock 96 Z28 with an LT1, i am looking to go LT1 stroker motor. I am starting to aquire parts for this project and i just thought about my PCM. I know that i can send it off and have it reprogrammed. I was wondering if there was a way they could program my PCM for a 383 stroker? and is it possible to use my SFI without changing the injectors? Thanks, Nick

Lloyd's email is nighttrain66@msn.com

You will need to have your PCM reprogramed after you do the 383. You can do a mail order tune or preferably, have it dyno tuned.

You will also need to go to larger injectors.

Yep. I just upgraded to 30# injectors and went to Bryan at PCMforless. My car started on a touch of the ignition did even have a chance to turn over. Can runs terrific. I got 3500 on the dial now without a problem except a burnt wire.

Sounds like a mean *** ride man, thanks for the help. I was also wondering with all the mods you have, what is your dyno? and what is your 1/4 time? Thanks, Nick

Hey guys I am sorry to chime in now but I am planning on doing this same mod very soon so I am wondering who this lloyd guy is that I am hearing about with the 383 heads and cam or whatnot. I have seen the new lt1 heads by trickflow and the price is very nice. What is the deal with this guy quality and price wise. I want to run the most hyper engine that I can on 93 octane gas. I want the most powerful 383 that I can get so whats my best bet. ( I HAVE A FEELING STROKER WANNA B DOESN"T MIND ME ASKING) I bet we both wanna know this information

Exactly how crazy do you want to get with this project? I've seen rotating assemblies go for $2500+.

I plan on getting cams and heads from lloyd...I plan on spending about 1500 there and about 1k on the kit i am buying including the machine work i am having done...This 383 kit is nothing HUGE or out there...wtf here is a link...http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...EBWA%3AIT&rd=1 I have been emailing this guy for a little while and he seems to know his merchandise. I am really looking for about 450 RWHP and that engine kit with the heads and cam Lloyd (by reputation) makes i should have no problems...Thanks, Nick

All I've heard is nothing but great things about Lloyd. I spoke with him over the phone and he is a very knowledgable very very nice guy. You can have him do a complete job on your current heads for around the same price as the trick flows and I guarantee they'll flow better. I believe he does custom ground cams to match his heads also. He getting me a streetable 380-400rwhp with his P&P and a cam I picked out mixed with my current mods and a good tune. I planned on driving the car on a regular basis so that's what I was after. He's getting my heads this summer for sure. Great guy.

That's not a bad kit for a mild 383. I would definately opt for the forged pistons. My heads and intake should be close to being finished. Also, Brent should have a cam all worked up for me. I can't wait.
