3800 rpm stumble

Ok well i have delt with some tuff problems in my time but this one is becoming a pain in my a**.

I am working on a friends 96 formula with 350 lt1 6 spd 160k miles. mods are long tube headers, granatelli Maf, cold air intake, skip shift elim., delteq, msd opti(not just cap and rotor) and that is about it.

The problem was... hesitation all the time and stumble at 3800 RPM. turns out when they put on the delteq and the msd opti a wire got burned and the plugs were junk.( great shop huh? ) so i replaced the plugs, wires. plugs are regular 1 tip style bocsh plat. and the wires are cut to fit accel 300+. I have used this combo on multiple cars now with no regrets all running great.(if you had a question about them) so after that i started up the car and it ran beautifully! except it still had the 3800 rpm miss/stumble/hesitation. under load is where it is most apparent because the motor revs so good that it will almost jump the hesitation in nuetral. I also noticed it is more evident under heat soak.

Well from there i have done a few things... for one there are no codes in the computer, second i took of the granatelli and replaced with stock, no change, then checked fuel pressure while driving and it is normal ~37psi(hard to get exact while driving :P), for good measure i tossed in a know good computer from my racecar with no change in problem. My plans for next attack are to inspect rocker arms and check timing chain because of high milage but if there is something else that i have not done to be less intrusive i would love to know. Thank you for your time and concern

I would start to look at the ignition system for any faults/problems first - any type of electronics do not work well when hot

yeah i agree that is why i checked the maf and ecu. i also unplugged the map to possibly eliminate that sensor because like i said it is mostly load dependant. As far as the ignition the opti is a brand new msd which is just used for cam sensor now because of brand new delteq unit. Thank you for the response.

Recent threads about Delteq problems and non-existent service might make you wonder about it.

Did you replace the ignition wire (goes from ignition coil to the Optispark)
