That does seem like a lot of stall for the power your making.

I run a 3500 stall with my combo and I actually think that this year it will help me vs. hinder me. My old combo made a lot of rwtq and I would have been better off with a 2800 stall.

I know when I locked my tq at the track when I was running low 12's@108-109, I lost 1 mph and 1/10 of a sec. It bogged it down.

Try the switch. I thought non lock up would help me but it did nothing so it just depends on the set up. The car should be shifting above 6k, i would try 6200.

I dont think 3600 is too much for the combo.

I don't think the 3600 is too big for ya, you saw an improvement in 60' time. I think you should install the TC lockup switch, keep it unlocked, set your shift points to 6200, and tell us how it goes

What was your before/after 1/8 mile times and mph? If your before and after 1/8 mile mph is the same or close, then you know your losing mph in the last half of the track, from your converter locking up. And sure, bigger isn't always better, but in this case it seems like it was. He went from a 60' time of 1.64 before to a 1.61 with the 3600, sounds like he improved to me. Hell, when I just had boltons, my best 60' with a yank 2800 was 1.83, I went up to a coan 3500 and my 60' improved to a 1.73. So in my case, a 3500 was fine with a bolt-on car, he has a hotcam, seems like a 3600 would suit him just fine

Hey Cheese. My 60' is better then with the 3200 stall. I will cut some 1.59's or better in the 60' soon. I was still playing with stalling it up at the line & practicing leaving on green with the Line Lock. Bigger is definately better. This sucker just gets up & leaves. When I put on my GTP Stage 2 heads this converter is going to be perfect. That is the main reason I went higher on the stall.

I will get my shift points upped to around 6300 now & get rid of the "Lock Up" I know for a fact it killed me at the end of the track. I watched the tach literally go backwards a bit.

Thanks Guys for all the opinions. But at 3605 race wt I really don't think a 11.99 run is going to happen. But we will see. I will be installing the heads by August. So if I don't run 11.99 on stock heads then I just won't be a part of that elite club like Ken. It would be great though..

Thanks again

allmotorta.....
My times from my last outing with the 3200 stall in the 1/8 mile were all pretty much the same as my best then. After the 1/8 mile is where I lost a bit. When I ran my 12.30 run that was the best run out of 10 runs that day. I probably averaged 12.37 for that day & last night I averaged about 12.46 so I was only like a tenth or less off with all my lock up issues & shift points. I think once I get the kinks out I will run 12.1's. We'll see .....

True, i agree. But bigger might not be better for all aspects ya know?

1.59's are just plain SICK!

I would DIE if i was able to cut anywhere near there. You don't have any LCA's or Re-location brackets either huh? I hope mine prove to be worth it.

I tried the vig3600 first and I found it left ok but didn't feel like it pulled good down track. Best 60 ft 1.57 Then I had converter tightened to Vig3200. It woke up my car. New best 60ft 1.49 and all times are Na. I find that LT1's do well with Vig3200. Ls1 like wilder converters. Frank95z

Thumbs down

Well I am done... Car is getting slower....

Here are my runs.

Race Wt. 3580#

1) 12.683 @ 104.41 1.689 60' Time
2) 12.677 @ 104.51 1.675 60' Time
3) 12.677 @ 104.70 1.671 60' Time
4) 12.600 @ 106.14 1.673 60' Time
5) 12.608 @ 105.62 1.686 60' Time
6) 12.567 @ 105.64 1.656 60' Time

Times are very consistant but everything from the 60' time all the way through the 1/4 are down. The DA Tonight was over +2000 so the weather played a large roll. However my times are way low. But with my times being so consitant it leads me to believe that I may not even have a problem. I know I have a slight miss under very light accell. You can tell cause the exhaust sounds like $h*t.... Sounds like dadadadadadddddaaaaaddaVrooom!!!

Any Ideas? I know the larger converter may be hurting my top end but 2 weeks ago I ran consistant 1.61 60' times. Tonight was way off in my opinion. I am now lost. I am just going to put the heads on now & change plugs & wires. Then what ever it runs, it runs....

Any info would be great.

Thanks.

You sure you're not getting any lockup? Have you got a flash file I could see?

Yes I am sure I have no lock up. 2 weeks ago the computer locked up the converter & I hit a brick wall. Then I sent the pcm back out to pcmforless to get it eliminated to see if it would help. Last night it didn't hit that wall. No Lock up...

No I don't have a flash file either...
