355 vs. 383????
355 vs. 383????
looking to do either keep i mind this will be almost be daily driven. i really want to push nitrous about 150 shot which would be best for this. the car will be torn apart with new rear end and tranny so that isnt a problem.
Re: 355 vs. 383????
Yep, this has been discussed in full.
But the gist of it is, if you got the dough , build the stroker.
But just remember to get intake system and exhaust system (heads, cam as well) to complement the larger cubes of a stroker motor.
For a street car a 383s torque makes it absolutly worth while alone.
Since I built a 383 for myself I wont build a 355 or 350 for performance use for myself again. The smile on your face will tell the tale.

Re: 355 vs. 383????
Depends on the deal, would have cost me another grand to build a 383. I am doing a budget build, but my 4340 crank, h beams, and srp's will be about the same price as a 9000 crank, i beams, random piston
Re: 355 vs. 383????
like everyone says if your on a budget get a 355, then you can use stock crank and rods.
150 isnt really that much nitrous so put some good pistons in it and you will be good.
if you plan on replacing the crank rods and pistons just get a stroker, there wont be too much of a difference in price then. basicly the clearencing.
