is it a 350?

I recently bought a rebuilt lt1 shortblock and was under the impression that it was a stock 350, but when i got it home and took the plastic off...the pistons say .030
wouldn't this make it a 355???

Re: is it a 350?

So what you're trying to say is I don't have a 350 anymore? Now I'm all confused. J/K Just in case you didn't know, or had a brain fart usually when you do a full rebuild of a motor, you bore it .030 over making sure all the cyllinder walls are true

You got a better deal than you thought then. Rebuilt is better than re-ringed

Re: is it a 350?

well i guess that's pretty cool then. it's a good looking block, so i'm excited to do this. how much better would it be over the stock one? i'll be putting a cc305 in it and probably use stock heads(or maybe a very mild port...stupid sniffer test every year)

Re: is it a 350?

technically it is a 355, but it's still a 350 at heart

Re: is it a 350?

not really anything measurable. But, basically you've got a new motor.

cool, now i just need to see how much i can port my heads, if I even can...lousy smog testing areas...

good thing it's "new"...too many miles on my current motor for a cam install...

Re: is it a 350?

Feel free to port those heads. That cam and ported heads with a GOOD tune will pass the sniffer no prob.
