My recipe got me right at the 300 rwhp mark:

Lingenfelter CAI
Borla Y-pipe
off-road pipe
Flowmaster cat-back
March pullies
coolant bypass mod
relocated IAT sensor
Granatelli MAF
CSI Electric Water pump
Comp Pro Mag 1.6 RR's
LT4 Valve springs

but I REALLY think it was that airfoil thingie that did it

I did it w/ just a CAI, Elec. WP, Hooker LT's and a Cutout.. m6 w/ 3.42's 300rw is pretty easy.. Oh and as far as how much i think it could be done for under 1K w/ careful shopping.. to be exact it was 309/343 w/ 109K miles.. Dynoed 314/333 w/ 1.6 rr's through a 9" w/ 3.70's

im not to familiar with rr's and springs n all that...i have virtually every bolt on and have done nothing to the engine itself...what can i do first that will give me some good gains without having to do a million other mods to complement it..i mean can i just do rr's by it self? arent u suppossed to do springs and pushrods and others?

with a 150 shot of nitrous you'll walk away from a 300zx.

The benefit of a RR is mostly reduced friction in the valvetrain and/or the miniscule amount of lift you gain by going to a 1.6RR.. Some say change springs.. SOme say don't.. I say if you have quite a few miles on your motor.. Go for it.. Cheap insurance.. believe the LT4 Springs are goin for like 25 for a set or somthing like that through Jason Cromer.. As far as what else can you do.. to make more power.. Maintnance.. Plugs, wires, etc.. Most gain about 10 or so HP w/ Rr's.. Thats the avg. Some more some less.. its a easy mod and one that can be used on future motor's.. Comp Pro Mag's are completely rebuildable!! and are only like 269 or so.. can't beat that..!! Did i overanswer that question? haha.. Oh and btw.. You don't need to change your pushrod's. .They are hardened from the factory.. We 94/95 and maybe 93 guys got the better pushrod's out of the deal..

You should be able to hit 300RHWP with just a few bolt ons. The basics such as CAI, headers, exhaust, and maybe a gear would put you right at it. Do a little tuning or add some 1.6 rr's and you are over 300RWHP by a little.

As everyone else has said, 300 sounds like a enough for now but you will want more. At first the new additions will feel great but shortly after you'll think the car is slow again and have the urge to spend more money. The only time I really didnt get use to my car is when I would spray it. Of course I didnt spray everyday so when I would it always felt great and was a nice kick in the rear!

The question is, how much money do you have to spend? HP cost money. If you can tel us how much $ you have to spend and whether or not you can do your own work, then you will get some solid advice on how to reach your goal. JMHO
