Re: Are 30# injectors big enough?

I would go with the 30# SVO's for now b/c you can get them for $75 and secondly when and if you max them out you could always sell them for $75-$100 and buy your bigger injectors. I always see peoiple buying big stuff for future projects that never happen. IE run out of money, buy a new car, house, satisfied with the power they are making etc... It will be alot easier to tune with the 30# and your current setup then trying to tunbe for the bigger injectors. BTW My car made 420+rwhp on the stock 24# injectors at 43psi. LKater and good luck.

30s will be pushing it and limit your future mods. Go ahead and get some racetronix 38s or FMS 42s.

If your a member of corvetteforum 24's will be enough..

42's if you plan on making over 500rwhp.. But how realistic is that? If your absoulutely sure your going that far than use 42's, otherwize 36's will be fine. stay away from accel.

Just get the 42#ers and a tune. next get a tune after your future upgrades. The more the better when its under control.

How in the hell do you push 420rwhp with stock injectors?!!?!? Don't you max them way out?!

Re: Are 30# injectors big enough?

I never checked the duty cycle but it was never to lean b/c I ran the car with 200HP n2o and never burned a strap off a plug or never hurt any pistons with over 80 passes. The car ran 11.24@120mph N/A and 10.17@134mph (200NX) leaving easy on drag radials(stock 24# injectors). I will be upgrading to either some 30 or 36# injectors with my new setup b/c it should make 450-475rwhp on motor. LMK where you can get those 30# SVO's for $75 b/c I'll buy them. Later Clint

It's plenty doable with the stock 24#ers, but there's no way I'd go more than that.

Sounds like you need some 36 or 42# injectors to meet your goals.

Just remember... the bigger the injector, the more you'll hate paying $2.70 a gallon.

I'll give you 2nd dibbs on the injectors. If I don't get them, they're yours.

So what does the duty cycle mean? What if you go over 100%. what happens?

In laymans terms, the duty cycle refers to the amount of work the injectors do.

If the injectors are at 25%, they are having an easy time working..kinda like your white-collared folk.

If the injectors are at 90%, they are working like a typical blue-collared man.

If the injectors are at 110%, it's 1861 and you're picking cotton in southern Mississippi in the summertime.

80% is the norm for bumping up to a next injector size. My 30s were at 65% duty cycle laying down 340rwhp. Do the math.

Re: Are 30# injectors big enough?

So if your injectors are at a max duty cycle, it just increases their chance of failing?

Why does not General Motors make sufficient fuel systems and rear end assemblies so that we do not have to buy Ford products? I feel like a schmuck every time I buy ford parts.
