30# injectors

Hi guys, My motor has 30 lbs. injectors on it and I was wondering how that will effect the performance of basicly stock motor with headers and cia? Is there something that should get tunned? The reason I ask is it seems to run rich. Any help would be great. Thanks

You need to get it tuned to run those injectors,Put back the stock inj or do not drive it until its tuned.

Untunned they will lead to ring, bore and bearing damage all without the possiblility of any gain even if tuned for. If the stock injectors were failing then I do think going to larger aftermarket injectors is better than replacing stockers with stockers but it will provide no immediate gain even with the required programming, but better to buy once and be ready for the future.

When you say get it tuned, would just changing the injector size in lt1 edit be sufficient?

These are the injectors that came with the car. I'd rather not buy new ones because I plan on modifying the set-up. I just want it to be safe for now.

Yes changing the injector size alone in LT1 Edit or preferably Tunercat would be good enough.

Probably have to tell it like 31lbs though be cause the SVOs are rated at 39psi whereas the LT1 stock pressure is 43.5psi.

The reason I said preferably Tunercat is it is much cheaper, not VIN locked and I believe has MORE parameters you can change. The VIN locked thing with LT1 Edit is a real hassle because nobody should be tuning a single pcm, you should always be able to go to a spare should one lockup on you. The license for a second pcm through LT1 Edit is over half the entire cost of Tunercat, and Tunercat has better service.

Only good things I would say about LT1 Edit over Tunercat is it is a little simpler and prettier to use.
If you already have LT1 Edit then stick with it but if you are going to buy buy Tunercat.
