3 Upgrade questions, need 3 answers

first question
Im getting a custom built torque converter hopefully. I think im going with a 2800 stall since the car is relatively stock with nothing more than shorty headers, CAI, 3.73 rear, Hooker Exhaust and a Hypertech programmer. Is 2800 a good number or should i do 3000?

next question
I hear with aftermarket torque converters, there is a definite need for a transmission cooler. I see there are 6 or 7 in the summit catalogue. Which is the best and then which is the best for a reasonable price

last question
Went to the track for the first time. My times seemed average, 13.9 with a trap of 99.92. My tires were getting owned, not getting traction at all, at least i hope and that it wasn't just my car is slow Anyways, i wanna get either a set of drag radials or slicks for the rear end as well as a set of .100 cold rolled steel wheels. Which are the best radials / slicks for a 15 X 10 tire. Or would i be better off going 15 X 8?

As far as Question number 2 goes, I have always been told bigger is better, since heat is what kills transmissions get the biggest cooler you can.

I have a Hayden (I think was the name) off the shelf from O'Reilly's. Mine gets to 190' max when sitting in traffic in the summer. On the highway it runs alot cooler.

I did run it first through the stock cooler in Radiator and then into the aftermarket cooler.

I like 2800 in my Caprice, you would be better off with something other than Hypertech though, sometimes a high stall can cause some goofiness like surging and hunting for idle, real programming can fix this Hypertech won't without a "custom" chip which will cost more than the right programming.

On the cooler go with one of the B&M stacked plate type, specifically look for one of the ones that act semi-thermostatic, which will stop the tranny from running too coll, WHICH IS POSSIBLE. There are also available thru Tru-cool.

Tires I can't comment on, well at least not with enough knowledge to feel confident I am helping.
