3 bolts and a rusted ECT away from saying screw it.
I can't get the 3 bolts on the balancer and the ECT off the waterpump.
Trying to change the opti and the f'en crank pully is in the way. Everytime i turn the bolts to loosen them the whole crank turns instead of the bolt.
And earlier when i was trying to switch waterpumps the plastic plug in of the ECT on the waterpump broke. And now i want to put in a electric one and need to replace it and the crap won't come out.
Anyone got any ideas on what to do.

Thats why theres a bolt in the center of your balancer. Toss another wrench on there and turn them in opposite directions....breaker bar is usually needed! Thats how mine was, one two three it was off!

I'm also replacing the timing chain...so would it be a good idea to just remove that center bolt to take out the hub and balancer all together?

I would NOT turn the center bolt one way while loosening the 3 bolts.
Do like someone above said ,and put something in there that will wedge against the pulley and block so it won't turn like a big screw driver ,breaker bar, crow bar, etc. Or have someone hold the pulley so it won't turn, or if you are strong enough , you could possibly hold it with one hand and loosen with the other hand. Also i think if the car is in gear, the engine won't rotate much.
