i would go with gears and LCA's and save up for a cam later. Trust me the hot cam isn't enough. So you'll want to save up for bigger and better.

Go with the gears and the LCAs,, there are alot better cam's to choose from. So just save up for a cam, springs and rockers and you'll be much happier IMO.

i went with a cam 1st... as a matter of fact i went with a BIG *** cam for my car lol

i would personally go with the cam 1st.... nothing beats the sound of a lumpy cam :P

i get calls from my friends begging me to go to the car meets cuz ppl wanna hear my car

the gears are next on my list...

You can't get full advantage of the gears without the cam kit, so I would do a cam first.

When you do gears, you need to increase your redline as well to really make them worth it.

LCA's are nice, but not necessary. Are you getting wheel hop? If not, the LCA's can wait.

Personally, I would go with the cam kit with the roller rockers and springs so that you can spin the motor up higher. That way when you put the gears in, you will be able to take advantage of them better because shorter gears = less speed range in each gear, unless you increase the redline.

dude you guys have it the wrong way. The cam takes advantage of the gears. Get rid of those 2.73's they are the DEVIL!!!!!!

I went 2.73 ot 3.73 NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE MAN!!!!!!!!.

do the cam first! trust me! you already have headers!

yes and no! adding mods like cam/headers & heads just moves your power band up! gears help you get into the power band quicker!

Trust me the hot cam isn't enough. So you'll want to save up for bigger and better.
hahaaha typical anti-HOTCAM remark! check out my recent post.... 12.6 @ 112 with hotcam and headers! stock heads!

trust ME... the hotcam is plenty big for your everyday driver, and weekend toy!

I was just speaking from my experience. I have the 230/236 and i wish i would of gone more maybe the GM 847. My buddy has the 224/230 and wishes he would of gone more. So if you have a craving for power then stay away from the hotcam.

I also think you should go gears before the cam. My car was sluggish from the cam with out the gears. A cam needs gears, especially if your running 2.73's, gears don't need a cam,

hotcam is nice, but u'll always eventually wanna go faster, so why not start with a bigger cam?

oh, and if u did a 12.6 with the hotcam, maybe u could have done a 12.3 or a 12.4 with a bigger cam
