3.73 on a stock rear?

Will I lose my rear end if I hook up as described with 4.10's? I am thinking of getting 3.73 gears, however, I do a lot of traveling, highway and street, so how much will it affect gas mileage and also, the difference in rpm's on highway from stock to new gears? Thanks in advance. I have a pretty much stock car except for I/E. I'm also going to do SFC's and AS&M headers with a pro 5.0 shifter and new clutch. With those mods and gears, I hope to see mid to low 13's.

What size gear do you currently have in your rearend?? For example when I went from a 2.73 to a 3.73 I noticed my rpm increased 1000 rpm at 80 mph in 4th gear.

If I were you, I would go with the 4.10's. You may lose a mile or two in you mpg, but you'll gain about 3 tenths on your e.t. The 3.73's wouldnt be bad either, you'll gain about 2 tenths with those. If you go with 4.10's, make sure you get some slicks or drag radials cuz you'll spin bad on street tires.

373's wil be fine w/ a stock rear...so would 410's w/ the exception of shifting a little hard for a4's
