Question 3.42 gears

Is a 3.42 gear too much for an A4? I don't drive on the highway much (94Z with 28,000 miles) so cruising doesn't matter much. I just want to give the young punks something to think about.

Also 342s are in my opinion the best all around gears to have! You get quickness and good topend power!

swapped my 2.73 for 3.42. Prefect. 3.73 seems to be better if you drag all the time. I think they are a bit much for a daily driver if you cruise at 80 on the interstate at all.

Isn't 3.42 what comes in the M6 models?

I am pretty sure 3.42 is the gear in most if not all 6-speeds. I do know that in an A4 the 2.73 and 3.23 is the only options.

3.42 is the standard in m6's and 2.73 and 3.23 are standard in a4s.
