3/4 turn to tighten RR too much for stock lifters?

my friend and i tigthened the RRs by 3/4, but someone else told me thats a bit too tight for stock lifters...

is that true?

i heard 3/4 was good for any lifter

and is it also true stock lifters are just as good as aftermarket ones?

Are you talking past 0 lash? If so, yup. I think it will vary with spring pressure but I had the best results with 1/4 or 1/8

¾ past zero lash should not be a problem with stock lifters. ½ would be ok, too.

since the factory tightend them to a full turn, 3/4 is a piece of cake..

I ran mine for over 60k miles with 3/4 turn on the cam in the sig. without problems. I'd say most people go with a 1/2 turn though.

3/4 seems like a little too much to me. I wouldn't go any more that 1/2 turn past zero lash. I actually only went 1/4 turn on mine.

I dont think its too much, But I dont know if I would go that far. It wont damage anything and its not technicaly too tight, But alot of people just like to go 1/2 or 1/4 turn. But it is not going to harm anything going 3/4 or a full turn!

I had the heads off and cleaned at 160,000. I turned 3/4 as instructed by Haynes. Now at 196,000. No problems so far.
