25% mpg increase from new K&N

Never thought it can be that much. I replaced my old Holley filter on Holley CAI with the hugest K&N that can fit there. I think it's number RE-0870. Hwy mpg went from 18-20 to 25-27

I'm sorry but i can't really believe that. I think there must of been some other factor.

Old one (Holley) was made from some kind of sponge material. Probably due to aging it became restrictive.

Was your previous filter a plastic bag? That's great for you with the price of gas but I agree with Z95.

The old one must have been pretty darn clogged You may have also done a lot more hwy than usual which could up the MPG average by a lot as well. See how it is over a few tanks of your normal driving ;D

Yep, that's with only hwy driving - went on Sat. to Rehoboth Beach and back (~300 miles). My everyday commute to/from work is a real pain due to traffic. I hope I will see some increase too.

That is one heck of an increase. You wouldn't happen to be a sales rep. for K&N would you???

Actually, I tried to get Holley replacement filter, as it's Holley CAI. But they discontinued this product line, so I hit ebay

It's my and my wife's favorite place too. And the water now is even warmer than it was all summer. Nights are pretty cold though

I can believe it especially if your old filter was dirty. I cleaned the K&N in my Tahoe & picked up about 2.5 MPG. Last two tank fulls I got a killer 13 MPG !!!
