235-D Isky Springs.

Im pretty dead set on getting these springs... Mainly because the cam Im installing is Isky, my pushrods are isky, and well hell I would like to stick to one brand... But I have 1.7 roller rockers I will be using with my cam which brings the max lift to .549, the max lift is set @ .550 with the isky springs... My concern is will I bind, I dont plain on reving past 5800 and float with this cam is @ 6k.... So am I fine... Concerns, comments, all help welcome.. Im finally installing the Isky "Baby" so Ill have some numbers out on this cam soon, also switching from SLP D/C Headers to Longtubes.... Hoping Ill have a real stump puller now...

Re: 235-D Isky Springs.

The 235-D springs coil bind at 1.15", so if you install them at 1.75" that
will give you .600" to coil bind, or with .549" lift, .051" margin to coil bind.
The hotcam and LT4 springs only provide a .035" margin. The .050" margin
is reasonable, just check you installed height so its not less than 1.75".

I mocked up a 235-D spring with the L98 seats and Comp 730-16 retainers
and this combination had a 1.76" installed height.

Re: 235-D Isky Springs.

Stock installed height is 1.78" and you should be fine with anything
from 1.75" up to 1.78". There are quite a few cars running the 227
cam (.553" lift w/1.6s) and 235-D springs with no problems. Actually,
if I would have installed the 235s instead of the 26915s, I would not
be chasing what I think is a valve float problem. It's all part of my
philanthropic efforts to buy parts at full price and sell them at a 30-40%
discount to other board members.

I still have a NIB set of Comp 728-16 titanium retainers that work with
the 235 springs if you have another $100 to spend.
