230/236, stock heads DYNO #'s
230/236, stock heads DYNO #'s
numbers were as follows:
first run :
319.8hp/324 trq
second run : (bumped fuel 15%)
329.4/331 trq.
third run: bumped fuel 5% more
333 hp/336 trq.
power was very flat and went all the way to 6500 rpm
this was all through a 4L60e w/ a Coan 3200 stall and 3.73 gear
i am pretty happy with my numbers. i picked up 14 RWHP off tuning alone on the dyno!!!!! best $50 i have ever spent. and also, u have to add in the 18-20% drivetrain loss added in there. i think my car is making some serious power for a cam only w/ bolt ons and stock unported heads.PLUS, i couldnt pull the belt either for fear the battery would take a dump on us while flashing the computer and burn it up.

13lb flywheel and a lightweight clutch, can't wait to see the numbers.

I think I'll wait till I can throw an 8.8 in the car
With 3.90's, or maybe I'll give myself an excuse to rebuild the 10 bolt and just borrow my roomates Nitto's
Since the engine is going to be out of the car, maybe it might be a good idea to freshen up the bearings and install some new rings? The cylinder "look" good, gonna mic them out to make sure, maybe just hone it and new bearings/pump/rings and should be good for another 30k or so. Has 125k on it right now and it was trapping 98mph bone stock with the stock 125k A4 on it!

Just out of curiousity, but do you plan to stay with stock heads?? Only reason I ask is because that cam, while it's power is nice with unported heads, isn't really suited to the flow characteristics of unported heads. There was a post a few weeks ago with a guy on stock unported heads and the 218/224 cam, and he pulled 343/343 if I remember right. Just a though for those who are looking to go cam only that bigger isn't necessarily better.
heads are definately getting done. just not till next season. suspension is next for me.
