224/230 Xe

I've looked for this answer but can't find it. I'm doing the 224/230 cam install after reading alot of posts recommending it with stock heads. I've heard i should upgrade my injectors and fuel pump. Are the stock 26 lbs injectors good enough? I already got all the valvetrain stuff, still need the gaskets, I just want to make sure I do this right and once.

You car has 24lb injectors, not 26lb. If you not porting the heads, you can get by with the stock ones for now. You will however have to have the PCM tunned for it to run right.

Ditto, 94-97 cars all got 24 lb/hr injectors (93s got 22 lbers). I thinkt he general consensus is that the 24 lbers are good for up to 400 rwhp on an N/A engine. You shouldn't be making that much without headwork and that cam.

24 lb injectors would be completely maxed on a 400 rwhp car.

Re: 224/230 Xe

I probably saw duty cycles of around 65% or so with 30# injectors and that cam. Now with heads I see about 85% at about 5500 rpm. It would be a good idea to upgrade especially if you want to add heads in the future.
