2200 stall worth it with my mods??

I can get my hands on a 2200 RPM stall for CHEAP. I was wondering if this would be good for what I have. Mods are in sig.

It'll help however for what your gonna pay to have it installed I'd just save a little more and go with a 2800 or 3000.

I rode in an LS1 with a 3000 stall and I hated the way it felt.

Then just go with the 2200. It'll still be better than stock and work OK with the Hotcam although I'd at least try for a 2600-2800 if possible.

I had a Vig 2800 w/3.23's in one of my old LS1's and I hated it too believe it or not. Sure the performance was great when I mashed the gas but I didn't like the sluggishness feeling during acceleration and the exhaust note got a lot louder and higher-pitched sounding while cruising around town with the higher than normal amount of revs being used.

FYI...A set of 3.73 gears would help a lot to make a 2600-2800 stall feel closer to stock while the car would feel entirely stock when combined with the 2200.

That small of a stall is not worth insalling. Not much of a gain. Something like 2600-3200 is what you want. Try to go to a smaller converte(9-10"). The motor will rev quicker because of less rotating mass.

Yeah, as you guys can tell, I don't really know much about TC's. I happened upon this deal for $50 and thought I'd get some opinions. I dont' even know what brand it is. All I know is that it is a lockup converter for 4L60E's with a 2200 rpm stall rating.

I'm not looking to tear up the strip or anything, I'm just looking for a gain of about .2 at the track. Think that's possible?? I'll check on it some more and post what brand it is when I know.

Oh and I also have the hookup on getting it installed too, so it's no big deal.

I have a hotcammed car w/ 3.73's and the 2200 stall. i asked myself the same question when i had it done. I was rebuilding the whole tranny and the guy at the shop noticed the car was kinda hi-po..he commented that since we were gonna put in a new original... he said he could put a 2200 stall for like $20 more and said it was stronger. so far it does still feel like stock(but getting there a lot quicker) but when i did this i also went from stock to cam kit, from 3.23's to 3.73's and 2200 stall..so not sure what the stall would have felt like with other gears though.....it does pull nice and strong with the setup now though, however traction is a big issue now..but i like it..ohh and MPG will go down a bit....cant wait to try it with some slicks a friend is going to lend me..thanxs tony
