210/224 or powermax 2033 power production

Ok, I found a good deal on a shortblock that I'm picking up tomorrow. It's a lt1 355 with a powermax 2033 in it. It's also got a new vented opti and lt4 extreme duty timing set. Now here comes the lazy part....

Given that it's all put together, I really don't want to pull the cam and replace it with something bigger. I figure that could be a project for next year... But I could be talked out of it.

My question is those that are running it, what power are you making? and what do you think this cam's potential is with a good set of heads and as&M headers...

Also, if I don't get talked out of it, what are the thoughts on 1.6 vs. 1.65 rockers on it to enhance lift.

My overall goals are street drivable and stay on budget this year as I really didn't expect to need a shortblock replacement.

Thanks!

I've heard very few things. The consensus on this board is all comp cams. I was headed down the comp cams route until I came across this shortblock.

I'm trying to gain an assessment of what I'd be giving up staying with this cam based on the AS&M headers, good heads, and the rest of my setup.

Carl97SS started out with that cam, then changed when he went with a 396. Pulled around 365 RWHP with CNC heads, LTs and ED Wright dyno tune.

I run that cam on my 97SS, along with 1.6 Crower RRs ann .050+ push rods.

Emissions has me limited to SLP shorties.

PCMFORLESS mail order tuning. Don't know what it would dyno.

Cam provides good low-end, good idle and drivability.
