200,000 Miles

And just as many smiles

My '95 Z28 M6 Convertible hit the 200,000 miles mark.
I've owned the car for the last ~150,000 miles.
Full Synth Oil changes most of its life.

Other than normal service items and a run-in with a UBO (Unmovable Biga$$ Object) in the road that tore a hole in the tranny case the car has been cheap and fun.

Exterior worn; Paint is crap; Top is aged.... Car is loved.

I've always said, I'd restore it at 200,000 miles and now that I'm a Grandpa, I'll someone to "give" it to... We'll see.

Marc,

KUDOS on 200K. My 94 A4 Z/28 is right behind you at 182,XXX ~ I hope to also hit 200. Funny thing is that I bought a 00 SS to replace the 94 when it hit 100K and the SS has only 50 k and is a PITA ~ the 94 is 10X reliable.

My '97 A4 with 207K ran like a scalded dog right up to the time it blew a head gasket. I'll be putting it back together soon.

I love hearing about these hi mile LT1's. My 94 camaro has 85k miles, and I plan on keeping it for a long long time. I hope it's stilll running well at 200k.

High miles here too

I've got 195k now on my 95Z M6 vert, and I just replaced the fuel pump. I replaced the opti at 176k at that was the stock opti, changed it more for preventive maintanence with the water pump. I will crest the 200k mark with a ride to Erie, Pa next month for a fishing trip!! Syn oil, highway miles, a great car all around. Get great gas too 20 around town and about 27 highway. What a sweet deal.

My 96z sits a few K below the 90k mark. I'll be starting my second year of college next month and the car will be coming out of the paint shop in a few weeks. I totalled it on the way to get an accident report in January of 07, stupid snow, but I'm just as dumb for driving it in it. My buddy is repainting it, he and his dad do phenominal work. I plan on making it a 396 when I get to 100K since I bought it with 66,8XX when I was 15. Haven't put a bunch of miles on it and its gunna be in my hands for a long, long time.
