2-series carrier
2-series carrier
My friend has a set of brand new STRANGE engineering pro-street 4.10 gears. He decided to put 3.73's in his thirdgen instead, but I have a '97 Z28 M6 and drooling over his 4.10s.
His 4.10 gears are for a 2 series carrier, as his car came with 2.73 rearend. He has a 2 series carrier that he's just going to give me in the deal, if I decide to take it. I'm told that with 4.10 ratio to fit in a 2 series carrier, the ring gear is "thicker", and that it will actually make the rearend more durable?
Curious if any of you have heard of this. The "thick ring gear" part is quoted from thunderracing.
Either way, I'll get his 4.10's and carrier cheaper then I would regular 3-series 4.10's...but just wanted your opinions on this.
So if there is no reason why i SHOULDN'T change carriers to get the 4:10s i will.
Thanks
