2 quick questions

1. I am installing a CSR Electric Waterpump. Does the drive gear remain for the old pump remain?

2. I am installing 1.6 RR's. My mechanic tells me the stock Valve Covers will not fit, why is this? I've read the stock valve covers should be fine.

I have a 1993 Z28, a little different from the others.
Thank you.

Depends on the RRs. My Crowers fit fine. Some you have to massage the metal lips under the valve covers.

Except he's a friend and he isn't making any money off parts I bring in.
I'm wondering if there is something different about the 93's that 1.6RRs won't fit or maybe he feels there isn't enough room b/c it's really tight and not he isn't familiar with LT-1s?

If I get new valve covers, how will I know what will fit the LT-1 and the 1.6RRs?

Re: 2 quick questions

Ok, I've found that I need to snip the webbing that hold the bolt "tubes" (webbing closest to the intake)

Anybody familiar with the CSR water pump question?

The drive shaft can stay,or be removed. The intake has to come off to remove it.

Will stock timing chain work without the drive shaft in?

CSR??

Stock valve covers will work. May need to tweak them a bit, but they will work fine.

In that case, I have had no problems with their pump.
