2 questions: Duals and 1.7 RRs

For a cammed LT1 w/ stock heads, would a 3" true dual exhaust system be best, or a 2.5" dual system? My LTs have 3" collectors, so it seems it would be best to just extend those all the way to the back of the car and put a couple bullit mufflers or something on...thoughts on that please...

Next:

Has anyone seen dyno charts or anything verifying how much HP going from 1.6 rockers to 1.7 rockers will gain? I have heard 15 hp on a cammed engine, but that's just something I've heard, I'd like to see some dynos if anyone has them!

Thanks!

im sure its a nice increase of hp.. but your heads are not p&p'ed ? You'll get alot more power with a big cam and ported heads, along with your 1.6 or 1.7 rockers

No, my heads haven't been done yet. I'm doing them soon though. I know a guy here in town that could build me a true dual setup, probably for a decent price, just trying to decide which diameter pipe is best for a cammed LT1...anybody know what's best?

i decided to go 3" true duals with my longtubes. i have ported heads and the xe224/230. i choose 3" over 2.5" because i dont have to worry about ground clearance.

dual 2.5 inch pipes will sustain 450 fwhp, I've read even 500 horses, but for sure 450. If you intend on going at this 3 inch is the way to go. I did a comprimise, the dual 3 inch was very loud and much more bassy then 2.5, so I now have 2.5 with cutouts, so I can still have as much power as I need, plus listening to the radio is much better.
