is this 2 much 2 pay for a lt1 30th camaro?

from autotrader.com.......

Price $15000

Mileage 11500

Camaro Z28, Rare 30th Anniversary (Z4C) package, almost showroom condition, original non-smoker adult owner, always garaged, meticulous maintenance proven with all dealer service records, extremely low actual miles. All options including 12-disc changer, 16" chrome wheels, Z-rated tires, traction control, t-tops, 3.23 performance axle, power drivers seat, windows, locks, mirrors, cruise control. Everything works just like new, no leaks or problems, interior near perfect, never wrecked or damaged. New battery in Summer 2002. Original MSRP $26,411. Exceptional condition, so price is non-negotiable.

also what is the z4c package?

i dunno. im looking to buy a camaro with low miles in excellent condition and i have about 16 grand tops to spend. is this worth it? also it has a pic and its damn clean.

$15k sounds a little high to me. That would sound about right for an 30th SS but for a Z I would think maybe $12-13k. It does have extremely low miles though so it's probably in excellent condition. For that price I think you could get a 98 or 99 SS but it's up to you. Certainly not trying to talk you out of an LT1

I say for 15000 buy an LS1 , no need in buying something already outdated and it is not going to gain value

dont get me wrong I like my LT1 but if i was in your shoes ....

That's a sweet car. I would love to have it. 30th Anniversary with t-tops! Sounds like it's in great condition. However, you're mainly paying for what it looks like. Performance wise you could get a regular '98 LS1 for about $10,000.

Is it manual or automatic? If it's a 6-speed and I had the money to burn I would get it just for it's looks.

everones telling me that...i would get a ls1 over a lt1 but 1. i didnt think i could find one with low miles for 15 grand and 2. its gonna be driven around town 98% of the time so others have said to go with the lt1 because of low end power. I will be ready to buy april 19th (18th birthday) and i could really use others opinions. thanks a lot.

I paid about $13,9 for my 97 Ws6 last summer. Im sure I could have found a clean LS1 for that or a little more. But I fell in love. The car had 43k, hardtop, leather etc. Only downfall is, its an A4. From what Ive seen my color is fairly rare, and looks awesome all shined up. The biggest question is it worth it to you? You have to pay for it...no one here. I absolutly love driving my car, I find my self just cruising aimlessly when Im bored. Nothing I have done in any of my previous cars. Best vehicle Ive ever owned.

You sound like you might be going into the deal with cash, Im sure hed be willing to negotiate a little with a serious offer on the table.

It might not be around so don't get your hopes too set on just that one. If it still is you could probably bargain down to around $14,000. Still a crazy price considering it was $30K+ new (and it still IS new with only 11.5K on it). Expect to pay a premium over non-ss versions. I think that option was probably a handling package.

Check on insurance, it may exclude a camaro altogether for you ($2k or more a year?).

I would go with the 30th. I know that the LS1 is faster and has more aftermarket support, but why not go for the heritage. Mileage is good, price is a little high, that should be for an SS. Don't let anyone tell you that it won't be worth that much, look at the '67 pace cars. That is proof that if you hang onto it you'll get your money's worth. I used to have a 25th Ann. and whenever I went to cruise nights, I would ALWAYS get an offer on it and it was only an RS. Go for it!

I did a check on www.kbb.com for one in Cincinatti, zip 45206 with these options:

Engine: V8 5.7 Liter
Trans: 6 Speed Manual
Drive: Rear Wheel Drive
Mileage: 25,000

SS Pkg
Air Conditioning
Power Steering
Tilt Wheel
Cruise Control
AM/FM Stereo
Cassette
Dual Front Air Bags
ABS (4-Wheel)
Alloy Wheels

Selected "excellent" condition and this was "privat party" value:

$13,775.00

Same car from a dealer:

15,645.00

I tried a search on the car you're looking at but it doesn't give any option for the appearance package that car has, just an option for Z28 or SS. Selecting Z28 and those options the private party value is:

10,465.00

Since it doesn't let you select the other option this car has it's hard to get an exact blue book value on it.

It is only a Z28, It's value is the same as any other Z28 of that year. The Stripes and white leather have no book value only a personal value. Every 97 was a 30th anniversary model just like the 92.

Darn Brian got to it before me

When I was looking for my 97, I ran into a few "true" 30th anniversary editions, which contain the Z4C package. It basically gives you the white leather interior for the 30ths, along with the orange hugger stripes that are associated with the 30th anniversary Z28 and SS. Even though my 97 is *also* an anniversary edition car, the appearance package is denoted by the Z4C package.... lalalala
