Not really, the Valve Job has already been cut for the bigger valves. That's why I suggested the LE3 treatment to them.

So how many guys have seen this disaster waiting to happen by using a 2.02 valve instad of a 2.00 valve...I mean we are talking about .010" per side of the valve. I mean if one hundredth of an inch creates such a problem...then how can a 2.00 valve be any better? Might as well stick with 1.940" stockers then?

All you guys are doing is freaking this guy out...so, who has seen this happen or are we just repeating internet jargon?

Go ask your head guy what he did again and discuss your concerns. That is where I would start.

Frankly, I wouldn't assume that nothing can be done---since we/you don't know what HAS been done. Larger valves are only beneficial if they fit correctly in their seats and seat and pocket work has been done to take advantage of the larger valves. Just a WAG, but for that little money I question whether anything more was done than installing the larger valves.

Going with anything larger than a 2" IV and a 1.57 EV takes a very skilled machinest, at best, and probably compromises the integrity of the head itself because of the sparseness of room to deal with on the LT1 heads.

I think I would have a talented and reputable head pro to examine the heads to see if they will still accommodate a smaller valve----and to also give you an opinion as to the quality of the job that was performed.

And if the heads have been compromised I'd $hitcan them and start over.

I am not saying that your mechanic is not great----I'm just sayin' that many of us assumed that our mechanics were the best---mostly because someone said they were. And sayin' so don't make it true.JMHO

Ummm, no I've seen it happen before. I'll have to measure the seat width again but man it's too tight to go that big on the valve.

So do you mean LE3 treatment now, or do you mean I should have done it BEFORE my heads got screwed? And, more importantly, if its still possible, how much money does it generally cost?

BTW, like i said, i dont know much about heads, as far as numbers go, so I appreciate all of your opinions.
