1LE sway bars question

I want to improve my car's handling. would 1LE sway bars do the job? I already have bilstein shocks on that I have ordered from SLP. Also, would an SFC improve handling? I'm not really sure what its function really is. Thanks guys.

This months "Camaro Magazine" contains and article on improving the handling of 4th gens and the 1LE sway bars and SFC were part of the mods they did with significant results. GM Parts direct has a special on the 1LE sway bar kit for $180

I was planning on doing this mod and SFC's myself

Cool

yeah the 1le sways bars will improve your cars handeling. I got both the front (32mm) and rear (21mm) sway bars and I notice a difference of handeling right away. I am thinking that you still have the stock springs so I would recommend getting just the front sway bar and stick with the stock rear sway bar. Since you have a 97 the springs are softer than the 93s. Because if you do go both sway bars front and rear you will experience some oversteer. But if you are planning to install aftermarket springs than I would recommend getting the rear as well. If you do decide on getting springs I would recommend getting a set of eibach pro kit springs. And I know a place you can get them cheap for 193.00. If you are interested or if anybody is interested let me know. Talk to you later. Good luck on your chocie and if you have any questions feel free to e-mail me or send me a PM.

You probably should have posted this in the Autocross and Road Racing section....

First, exactly what do you want to do with your car?? Is it going to be street only, autocross/street, etc, etc.

It makes a big difference in what you do. I wouldn't rush right out and buy 1LE bars. We cover this all the time on the other forum and there are LOTS of options depending on your needs. Give me more info and I'll help you out.

Here's my suggestion, call Sam Strano at:

Order line: 800/729-1831
Tech line: 814/849-3417
Fax: 814/849-6305
http://www.stranoparts.com/index.php

Sam has more knowledge with F-Body's suspension than anyone in the country. It will be the best phone call you'll make for your car.

stock rear sway bar is good enough for most anything except high speed road racing

i have a 1LE front and it's only slightly better than stock

We've had a lot of discussions in the other forum regarding front bars. As usual, I recommend the Suspnsion Techniques 35mm front bar. I use a 21.5 LG Motorsports rear bar.
