1LE elbow

I've seen this 1LE elbow a few places, and I was wondering if it actually does anything, or if it's a hoax like the Tornado. The only think I could possibly think it could do is make the car lighter by a few ounces. If it actually helps, or is worth getting, please let me know! Thanks.

It supposedly smooths out the air flow.

I personally think it's worth it to get rid of the donkey ****.

Basically, it gets rid of the "donkey *******" off the stock elbow and looks cleaner. Worth the money when your old one rips.

The "donkey dong" is designed/engineered to improve harmonics under full throttle and with the A/C running. The 1LE will increase the sound under full throttle, kinda like a 4-bbl. ...

Its made of thicker rubber than the regular elbow. Supposedly smoothes out air which makes sense as the donkey ******* is gone. Thats about it. I like mine and agree, its worth ditchin the big black johnson comin out the stock one.

It's not a performance mod. The only reason I'm running one is because the CSI waterpump doesn't allow for the "donkey dong"

Put money towards something else until you rip the stocker.

not worth buying for performance, althought it might give you 1-2 hp? But many of the factory elbows rip after a while and this one is much cheaper than buying a factory replacement, kinda suprising that it is cheaper.

Thumbs up

I WAS FACED WITH THE SAME THOUGHTS. SO I BOUGHT A "PLUG" FROM THUNDER RACING FOR $35 THAT PLUGS THE HOLE WHEN YOU REMOVE THE SORNKEL. WORKS FOR ME & IS "CHEAPER" !

Before my old one tore, I just stuffed in a bottle cap off pert plus. Lot cheaper than 35 bucks. Infact I think I stole the cap from my friends shampoo. The entire 1LE only costs $44 through Jason or Dal. Mine riped in half and I needed one that day, so I got one from el-rip offo dealer.

when your stock one rips..cuz it seems they all do eventually. I suggest a Trick Flow elbow. Its smooth, ceramic coated and has a much better provision for the IAT sensor than the Vortech does. Like was said before...you dont have to worry about it ripping either.

hey guys the suggestions are great, but throw some links in there as well. My elbow is ripping around the seal to the TB and its about time for a new one. Where did you get the Trick Flow or the Vortech from and what are we looking at price wise? Thanks

1le

I got my 1LE elbow from miamimotorsports.www.miamimotorsports.com It cost me about $65 to have it shipped I think. I think it may be a little cheaper now even. It seems to work good as a replacement for my torn stock elbow. "donkey dong" lol that is a funny way of desribing the stock elbow lol.

One way to get rid of the silencer/******* is to cut it about 4in. from the bottom, then shove it in the hole and put a clamp on it. Just a variation on the shampoo bottle gimmick.

Look in the LT1 section of the new Summit catalog for the Trick Flow and the Vortech. They don't have the Trick Flow on their online catalog yet I dont think. If you want to give them a call it's 1-800-230-3030
the Vortech is $75 satin and $95 polished and the Trick Flow ceramic coated one is $90. They may tell you its on back order and may take a couple of weeks like they told me but I still got it in like 8 or 9 days.
