1996 Camaro
I have a 1996 Camaro Z28....I took it to the track when I first got it and it ran 9.4s-9.5s with CAI.....Soon after that my cousin got a 1994 Firebird and stock it ran 9.2s-9.3s......Anyone know why they were ran on the same track and they are both auto......Anyone got any ideas what I can do to my car to get it to run a little better/faster for not a lot of money......Thanks in advance.......
Mess with the exhaust. With that CAI, headers and a new Cat back would do wonders, especially if you leave the cats off. You might also look into a cam....but that gets expensive quick with springs and such. Another option is to change the gears. I'm going to assume you have 3.23 gears, 3.42 or 3.73 would help out.

some cars run better than others, due to mileage, how they were maintained, air temps, which day they were built on..
a tenth or two isn't a huge deal and could easily be driver error, humidity, temperature, any one of a billion environmental factors.

You guys are only off by 0.2 s. Could be driver, traction, weather when the runs were made. Sounds to me like the two of you real close anyways. I bet if you put some sticky tires on the back, you'll make that 0.2 s up easy.
