They did the switch in the mid of the year. I have never seen any 95s though with dual cats. I would suggest to get the 94-95 headers bcuz they are a better design then the 96-97 ones and there are a lot more. To answer your question, as long as there is a cat right after the manifold on the driver side and the pass side is still under the car, then yes the 96-97 style headers should work.

For the 95 year model, the only two states that had the dual cat setup was CA and NJ, they were still OBD1 but had a OBD2 diagnostic port(under the steering wheel). The 96+ dual cat setup should work for you. For me I just got a regular 95 SLP header & Y pipe setup and made a custom "off-road pipe" and a "CAT pipe". So when I needed to get it smogged I would just put the CAT pipe on and it was in the same location as the regular 93-95's and I passed smog with no issues. The biggest misconception with CATS is that you can't mess with them at all. The truth is you can mess around a little, and if you do your homework and can BS(explain) why there is replacement CAT on as apposed to the factory one, most smog guys just look and see if the CAT is there and the if the numbers run clean and its no big deal. The big point here is that most people think that you can never touch your CAT and that is not the case. The big stickler is the location. If it is generally near the stock location its going to be okay. Like I said, I put mine if the "stock location" for the 93-94 and 95 non-CA models, and was able to explain that my orginal CAT went bad and I put on another one. I hope this helps.

i am sure you want dual cat headers to make the smog police happy but i am just wondering if you could put single cat headers on is there anyway the emissions people could tell if your car was a single or dual cat car? Do they check the vin? I am not sure if even the vin would let them know. If i was you i would look into converting to single cat headers if you can fool the smog police the headers are so much better.

THat is what I did. I just put the single cat headers on mine and since the cat is in the same location as the regular 95's (93 & 94) the guy at the smog station did not care. I just explained to him that I was running at little rich before I got the tune right on and the cat went bad so I replaced it. He just said cool and tested the car. As for the DMV the lady that checked my car for thr visual inspection did not even look under the car for a CAT. I still had the air breather on the valve cover and she just looked at it and did not say a word.
