Unhappy 1994 Camaro Z28 little performance

OK guys here goes AGAIN...1994 Z28 Camaro 56,000 miles, Flowmaster Cat Back exhaust, MSD coil, homemade CAI, Automatic trans. The thing has seemed to lost its power, Brand new coil, ICM, plugs, what the heck? The thing used to have alot of power, but lately it seems to have nothing! It runs fine, and drives nicely, but when i punch it it just doesnt have what it used to! The car has trouble turning the tires over from a stop at wot! It used to get crazy and go sideways on me when i did that at half throttle! Whats going on? It runs/idles/drives smooth, gets the usual gas mileage, but im missing the awesome power of the LT1 Any ideas?

Thanks!

Happen to me too. I have a 94 firebird formula and when I installed my 3 inch pipe it seems that I lost alot low end power but gained some top end. It was driving me crazy too. Lately when I floor my car at 30+ miles, it seems it takes forever to red line. It goes up really slow. So what I did. I replaced the coil, optispark, and spark plug wire and plug. Felt a little bit better but I do recall that my car had much more kick to hit when it was stock. Two weeks ago, I installed a 2800 TCI converter. That made a big difference. One of the best mod that I did. But I am still disappointed. Than I installed Mac mid length headers, and I gain wow...But I know with all the mod i did to my car, my car should of perform much better.

The last result is to do a dyno tuning and purchase a lt4 knock module.......

o yeah, some one told me that I should replace my cat coverter because a clog conveter can make you loose power. only 40 at ebay (catco)

alrighty...my plugs are new (within last 2,000 miles) the wires may need to be changed... the air filter is brand new (changed at same time as plugs and has been cleaned not that long ago) An LT4 Knock Module? I only have Cat Back Flowmasters, CAI, Vortex elbow, and MSD coil modifications, could they cause extra "noice/false knock" under the hood? If so, should i try it? I was also readin about cleaning the MAF how do i do this? i mean these both are worth a shot...but do I really need a LT4 KM, and how do i clean the MAF?
Thanks!

Last week my 93 Z28 could only do 15 mph. So I took may catalytic converter off and gutted it and my car runs like its new now. I had checked everything else prior to this and all systems were good.

I had a 94 formula where the cat got clogged and i lost soo much power it was insane. Then on the highway i floored it and the stuff shot out the pipes. There was a huge cloud of white debris behind me and the car speed away like new.

The power loss seemed to come right after installing my Cat back exhaust...do ya think that my cat may have gotten clogged, and really are showing it now that my exhaust is flowing alot better? Or did i somehow screw something up in the cat when i was changing exhausts? I have no clue and it seems like with this car anything is possible! Thanks alot!

I don't think there is anything that you could have done wrong. Unless your catback exhaust was clogged to begin with. I think you should change the cat or gut it out. I'm not sure if you'll run into performance problems with a gutted cat. I know my friend's truck ran like **** when he gutted the cat. Maybe some other people could give you some feedback on that. I know you can get cats pretty cheap on ebay.

My cat went to hell and it caused the same symptons.... infact I got tore up on the highway by a taurus... A exhaust shop will be able to tell you in a second if your cat is clogged....

Smokn...what happened to your car when the cat was bad? What did u do to fix it? I mean, if the symptoms are alot alike, i may just gut the cat, and go from there! Thanks!

for those who have an after performance exhaust that makes your car louder, you should ALL GET LT4 KM. It worked wonders for me. Only $36. That price should hurt your pocket.
