1993 LT1 Stalling

I installed the Delteq Opti-Direct in my 1993 LT1 Camaro Z28 about 5 years ago. The control module and coils were installed on the valve cover with heat shield as instructed. It’s been running great until today between home and work, a 3 mile, 10 minute drive.

Drove to work in the AM. No problem.

Drove home for lunch 4 hours later. No problem.

1 hour later, started driving back to work. Half way through the trip, the ignition cut out. No stumbling or indication that it was about to go. I was in a lower gear, accelerating at a low RPM when this happened. Radio and all the other electrical components continued to operate. On first try, the car started back up and ran smooth.

A mile and 3 minutes later, it cut out on me while accelerating in second gear. RPMs were about 3500. Symptoms all appeared the same. Radio still running. While coasting, I tried to start the car. It cranked but didn’t fire up. Coasted into a parking spot and sat for all of 20 seconds. Tried again and it fired up, getting me the remaining 1 min drive to work.

There are no OBD codes being triggered. The SES light is not on. Since it’s a 93, I can jump two OBD pins to flash any stored codes. It came out clean. I watched it repeat code 12 about 6 times to be sure since it flashes that 3 times for a self diagnostic indication.

A lot of what I’m finding in the forums points to ignition control module and coils, but I’m using the Delteq system which uses the Delphi ignition module and 4 coils on the valve cover. I'm unsure if it’s probably the same problem.

Thoughts?

I searched the forums and found threads about the Delteq unit itself failing after 20-30k miles of being exposed to heat. And of them not being around anymore. Ouch. Is the behavior I'm experiencing a typical precursor to complete failure?
