1993 Coolant Level Sensor

Part 10195576 has been discontinued.

Any suggestions on where to get a new one? Could there be any other reason why my low coolant light comes on after the engine warms up? I've bled the system of air.

Just unplug the stupid thing. It won't set a code.

How can I be sure that it's faulty? I've found several conflicting instructions on bleeding the cooling system and don't know if it isn't air trapped in the system triggering the sensor. Why would it only trigger after the car's warmed up? From cold, it takes about 20 minutes. Once it triggers, I stop the car and turn it off/on to reset it. It then only takes about a minute to trigger again.

Thumbs up Coolant level sensor problem solved!

I have run into this problem every time I drained any coolant to do work on the engine. I also replaced the sensor and it did not fix the problem.

I have seen mutliple recommendations to unplug it but I refused to accept defeat.

The solution is this:

Every time I refill the coolant after doing work, I top off the radiator every morning for about 4 or 5 days. Be patient because it takes many thermal cycles to finally get all of the air out of the system (even if you used the bleeding screws) until the coolant level light will stop coming on. The slightest bit of air will cause the light to illuminate.

I don't know how the dealer can do this without keeping the car for days but if you are persistent over a few days and keep topping it off, I promise the problem will be resolved.

It works for me every time.
