1993 or 1995

I have a 97t/a as stated on my sig. Now the question is i have 2 longblocks one 93and one 95 which would be better to rebuid for a swap while I pull the 97 engine... I was also asking if i can use the 93 heads on the 95 block....since they say you can give the porter a little more to work with that year heads. Or should i just rebuild the 97 when I pull it out.... thanks

Re: 1993 or 1995

The 95 would be the better one to build, mainly because it would have the vented opti timing cover. If you want to run your crank shaft positioning sensor then you'll need your 97 cover and then really no engine is better than the other. 93-95 heads are known as the "better" heads for porting. So if the 95 block has heads just use them also. I also believe the 95 has PM rods which many say are better than the 93's forged rods. I guess it really depends on your build up.
