160k Too much for cc305?

I'm planning on doing a cam swap (cc305) with RRs and springs and such maybe i'll go through the heads for some home polishing (not much porting). Or I was considering going with an LE1/2 setup. Think its too much for my 160k Lt1?

It all depends on a lot of factors, it has been done before i'm sure but it might not last long spining higer rpm's with a bigger cam, mine has 190 on it and i'm going to rebuild it and cam it at the same time so i won't have any problems in the future.

Don't do it, just my $.02. Start building 383 on the side, take your time, do research. Make friends who done cam/engine swaps already. I wish I had this advice before I went the wrong route Don't ever be in a rush to make your car faster. My brother's z-28 has ~130k still stock, and pulling hard. Holds 35psi at idle, 50 in cruise; and he is sooooo trouble free and happy by having almost zero hours (besides tranny change) logged in his z-28. After trying to convince to get the cam in, my brother reply was simple- he haven't seen a single cammed/modified camaro (besides mine) in 1.5 years he had his car in Chicago area, and he pulled on couple z-28's, mustangs, and even c-5 auto. He said that it looks like everybody on this board has a 11 sec car, but this is very far far from being true. Just be happy with your already stock fast z-28, wait till you have enough money to do it right. Headers/catback and suspension mods are safe even for your 160k camaro

GOOD POINT! 130k on mine right now and im happy with the performance. I think dumping money to install a cam is a waste because of risk of spining bearings. and like you said "wait till you have enough money to do it right!!!" cause you'll be happier with a new motor!!!
