160 degree hypertech thermostat

Does anybody know if there is a website that i can go to that will give me a detailed description with illustrations on how to install a hypertech 160 degree powerstat for my 95 LT1?

I couldn't swallow $20 for Hypertech's thermostat and couldn't read anywhere why it should be so much. So I got one from my local Autozone for $1.95 and it's working great. Their part number 400-160.

The one you got is the old SBC type and is not designed to work with the reverse flow system and the passages in the water pump. You may have overheating issues in the summer.
IMO, as fragile as the head gaskets are on these cars it is not a good idea to gamble a few dollars to risk many.
Not saying I like the higher cost of the correct thermostat, but you can get a Hypertech for $17 or less some places.

Thanks for the reply and info. I had asked on my local board and didn't get this info. I'll watch the temps. So far in 75 degree days and on long trips I have stayed just above the 160 mark on the gauge.
