160*thermotat and fan reprogram
reprogramming the fans when having a 160* thermo is the best way to get the most out of keeping ur temps down right?? soo what do i have to reprogram my fans to..what temp.....or do i have options when reprogramming.??
I purchased the HPP+ programmer (used) when i got my 160 thermo...it has a program option for 160 thermo...changes the fan on/off temps in accordance. My temp gauge now sits at the 1/8 mark most of the time....never goes above 1/4 mark. I felt this was the best method.

yeah but those power programmers are expensive...anybody in the buffalo area with a 97 ss or z28 model wanna let me barrow theirs lol.......lets see what i have left over after all my mod lol...maybe ill buy one.
OH GOD NOT THIS AGAIN!!!
the only time you will benefit from lower fan settings with a lower stat are when sitting in traffic and who cares about the 3hp gain then. and when sitting in the staging lanes at the track, and in that case just rig a fan switch.
for normal driving you do not need to reprogram the fans. the car will run significantly cooler all the time as long as you are moving or at least moving occasionally.
under normal diving conditions the car will maintain a nice cool temp...regardless of fan settings.

93 & early production 94's[with 2 fan relays] have the single speed primary and/or secondary fans.. that can run one or the other [or both] fans..
"whoa bud calm down its a ****ing question..."
sorry bout that, it is just that this myth about tuning required in order to get ANYTHING from a lower stat is one of my pet peeves!
and i just wish it would DIE
you will see a noticable drop in temps with the lower stat...it's nice.
and watch for a fan switch so you can manually turn your fans on when you need to. i love mine for traffic and the track. search for "fan switch" and you 'll get a link to how to rig one yourself or you can buy the SLP unit for like $60 with nice clean installation and no problems with SES lights.

Plus pcmforless offers tuning for $99 and I believe Mad Wolf is ~$80 for tuning...
