Exclamation 160* Thermo Install on LT1

Can someone point me in the direction of an install for the LT1, I have a page that tells you how to do this mod on an LS1, but obviously it's a bit different. Any pointers or suggestions appreciated too, gonna install this afternoon.

PS Do I need a replacement gasket?

all you gotta do is remove the air inlet elbow and the thermostat housing is right under there. i.e. make sure the car has been sitting for a while so the coolant system has no pressure. undo the two screws holding the housing down, soak up coolant with towel, replace t-stat, and put everything back together. after youve got everything back together you may have a lil air in the system so youll need to run the car for a min or two and open the coolant bleeder valve to release that air then you should be good to go. not a hard mod at all!

So I installed it right, I turn the heater on, it stays around 180. Then after awhile I turn the heater off, it jumps to 210, and while I'm driving around it stays around 200, right where the old one was. however my gauges might be faulty, seeing as how the fuel gauge is always wrong

You really need to get your PCM programmed for a 160 * Stat. Otherwise it really dosent do much.

Have you tried bleeding the air via the two bleeder screws?

No, I was told that I didn't need to do that since the install went off without a hitch. There was no heavy leakage or built up pressure.
