Are 16" SS/ZR1 rims stock? If so, what year and model? What are the specs? Thanks in advance

 

Yes, they came stock on some F-bods. They were 16x8's, just like any other stock wheel. Once in a while you can find them on the For Sale board.

 

I believe they came stock on 96-99 Super Sport Convertibles

 

yup they only came on the verts, dont ask me why but they did.

 

So did they come only in LT1 SS's or LS1 SS's also?

 

i think it was only the 96ss verts that had them, but i also saw a t-top ss with them too

 

I remember talking to SLP years ago about those rims. I was told that the 16" came on all 96-97 verts because they thought the ride was too stiff if the 17" wheels were used (smaller sidewall). Obviously, GM abandoned that notion in 98.
