13.74 in a bone stock 95 Formula!

When I say bone stock, it truly is bone stock, right down to the paper air filter in the stock airbox. No free mods at all. The car is a 95 Formula automatic, 3.23 gears, with 85,000 miles on it.

Here is the timeslip:

60ft-2.007
330-5.784
660-8.886
1/8 mph-80.18
1/4-13.743
mph-100.01

I backed that up with a 13.777 at 99.3mph (2.016 60ft) and a 13.864 at 99.75mph (2.103 60ft) I'm running the new Goodyear F1 GS D3 tires, and kept them at the normal 30psi setting. I did a moderate burnout, and then launched off idle and mashed it to the floor. I got a bit of spin, but not enough to hurt the times by too much.

I truly believe this car will go 13.69 or better too. All I need is a day with similar temps but lower humidity, a bit better traction, higher barometric pressure, and to take out the spare tire and run on 1/4 tank of gas and I'm there for sure.

I've heard of a few bone stock LT1s running 13.6s but AFAIK they were all 6 speed cars, and/or SSs. Or at least the dual cat cars with 285hp.

So I'm curious if I have the quickest ET for a truly bone stock 93-95 LT1 automatic?

Weather conditions were good, but could've been better (barometer especially) On my best run it was 54F, with 39% humidity, 30.0" of pressure, and there was a 20mph tailwind too.

I cooled the car down at least 90min, and the intake was stone cold. I took nothing out of the car, I kept the spare tire in, and was running on just over 3/4 tank (on the gauge-which we know reads higher) of 92 octane.

Previous best was 13.89 at 98.2, on a 2.04 60ft, but since then I have done a few tuneup items including new oxygen sensors, new air filter, fixed a vaccuum leak and changed the one original plug I still had in the car. I also changed the fuel filter. Do your tune up stuff and you too can run well into the 13s with a bone stock LT1 with the right weather conditions!

Damn, that's what my SS ran when it was stock. I did have some axle hop. Good numbers.

Thumbs up

Awesome times man! I wouldn't say your car is a freak or anything, but it is strong, and you're not bad at launching either.

I don't think this car will quite go 13.52 bone stock. What year is his car? Is it a 93-95, or a 96-97?

It certainly is nice to get it running so well without any mods. My future plans include headers and a catback, and perhaps an LT4 hot cam. But not until next year at the earliest.

Most stock LT1's Ive seen run 9.1's-9.4's in the 1/8th. An 8.8 bone stock is really good.

Those are dang good numbers you sure there hasn't been any pcm tuning on it? Not saying its impossibly because it certainly is not, but those are GREAT numbers for bone stock car.

Well, I am taking my bone stock 94 A4 to the track at LVD June 27th. I will let you guys know what I run there.
Don't the auto's come with 2.73 gears though?

Also, any tips on how to get a good launch? I am new to the RWD world, and wouldn't mind knowing how to get going better. thx

edit: I forgot to say great times man. Gives me some confidence to run a good time
