12's

I am interested in upgrading my 1995 Camaro LT1 heads and cam and wanting to maximize the horsepower. My car will be street driven. the GM hot cam seems too mild for me. What kind of HP could I expect? MY goals are to see low 12's like in the 12.3 range naturally aspirated. What heads/cam would you suggest? I dont want to spend money on fancy things that arent neccessary I want to maximize my money spent.

LE1 heads and cam would more than get you there. Go with a Hot cam or CC305 if you have to pass emissions.

Also your going to have to look into some traction modifications as well as a stall converter for your auto. Also a nice ignition/fuel and exhaust system.

Definitely...I plan on LCA's, Adj. Panhard Rod ,Subframes Converter with more stall. For ignition Crane HI6R Does this sound good? Do I need Longtubes?

Definitely go with the LT's (or quality mid-lengths) first. I think that the consensus is to get headers before heads and cam. It's pretty much a given that you will have done all of the bolt-on's before opening up the engine.

Re: 12's

The stock coil will be fine. I would also not get the adj panhard bar unless youre lowering the car.

My recipe would be of course the normal bolt-ons like 160 degree stat CAI then go LE 2 heads and cam, Longtube headers either Hooker style (jet hott or hooker) or Pacesetters, along with a highflow Y pipe with a cutout, or a universal X pipe (at least 2 1/2 inch) with high flow mufflers like the Dynomax bullets. 3500 stall, 3.73 rear gears, sticky tires, no front swaybar at track, good tune, and let er rip. Make sure your fuel pump and opti are good as well. a few options I would do for more power would be a larger T/B better fuel pump (like a 255 lph), a LTCC or deltech, elec waterpump with roller timing chain. This will get you well into the low 12s and maybe a high 11.

Re: 12's

Is there a y pipe I could use with my stock manifolds and then also when i get headers? Also could I just buy a 58mm TB and then I wouldnt have to buy parts twice? Anyone have dyno timeslips wtih LE2 setup?

First off i wouldn't worry about replacing your stock y-pipe untill you get headers. Also if your trying to do this in a "stage" or in "steps" try to get everything else ready first, get some 1.6 RR's, ignition, fuel etc. and kind of make cam and heads your last step. They will give you your most power increase but if everything else isn't up to supporting it.........

Re: 12's

I am trying to get everything before but also am young college student so I am poor. I am going to buy used stuff. Except for the important things...And dont want to buy stuff twice. I want to go as fast as i can with what i have and i guess that means i will be sort of doing it in stages which is why I want a y pipe even though i got crappy manifolds i want to maximize what i have before i do heads/cam which i will probably be a while on that upgrade.

that's hard to say....you WILL need a pair of DR's to do anything worthwhile with that combo.

EDIT- you will need to get it tuned also with that combo
