1000-2000rpm stumble...Help me plz...

If the car is around 1000-1500rpms in first gear and i just mash down on the petal the car sort of bogs down for a second until it hits 2000rpms then it takes off real fast. If i mash the gas pedal down at 2000rpms and above it just accelerates right away with no delay. I don't know what it could be. It won't even spin the tires up at all it just bogs itself down. What do you think could be the cause of this? The car has new wires and plugs as well as a new opti. It's not a rip in the elbow or something like that because i have a trickflow elbow with a slp cai so obviously it can't rip. Anybody have this problem before? If so what did you do to fix it. I appreciate any help on this since its really bugging the hell out of me and i wanna get it fixed before i spend the money to get my headers.

Try blocking off the EGR when you get the headers.

I have had the SAME problem for 2 years, replaced ALL the items you replaced. I found out what is was this past weekend with the help of a board member here. My car has 104,000 miles and in my case it was the damed MAF!!!!! This is what i suggest you do, disconnect your MAF, you will get an SES light (dont mind it) drive around, and see if you have your sputter still. If it goes away, take maf out and clean it with some TB cleaner w/ red nozzle. If its still there, I can recomend a few fuel filter, running some fuel injector cleaner. If you have datamaster, some logs would prob help some of us out. Hope this helps, DEFINITLY disconnect maf and tell us how it goes.

You either cracked a plug like I did on #7 or I would say EGR for sure. Take it off and inspect it.

I don't think i cracked a plug because it only does it under 2000rpms. I will check the Egr though. Any other suggestions? I'm gonna go buy a new fuel filter even though i doubt that is it either because of the nature of the hesitation. But it can't hurt.

Clean the MAF and EGR. Change Fuel Filter. Take her for a test drive and post your results.

Just buy a new EGR they're not that expensive from the right source. (Jason or Dal). That is most definitely your problem. If you would like to confirm it, reach back behind the intake (where EGR is) and try to depress the EGR valve. If you cannot move it then it is stuck in the open position I believe. Which acts as a huge vacuum leak. Good Luck...

BTW: I would only go as far as spraying the MAF sensors down with TB cleaner. If you mess with them you are liable to break them and then be out of a MAF.

If you can get your car scanned check what your o2s are showing. They could have gone bad maybe? That was my stumbling probem. And then after new o2s it came back and I even had a left o2 failure SES light with brand new o2s with less then 50 miles on them!! Swapped them around and everything was fine! When I swapped them around I made sure my extensions where plugged in good. I think that was my problem on the new o2s was the extensions may have not been in securely.

So I would suggest, check your o2s and IAT. (Interesting post below this one about the IAT).

A lot of people including me thought it was the opti, but really just turned out to be the o2s.

That's what I did and my stumble vanished!!! It was mainly my MAF which was very dirty!!!
