ok, im sure im the only one this has happened to. well you know that "club" device that goes on the clutch pedal instead of the steering wheel? well while at the mall (notorious for stolen cars) i was tightening it on the clutch pedal (it pushes it towards the seat) the pedal "popped" and is now loose i.e. i can pull it towards me pretty far. what broke? the clutch still works fine but it seems to be that the only thing holding the clutch pedal up is the actual clutch. did i break a spring or something?

I guess you will have to get under there and look at the linkage.
