If it's running fine, I wouldn't spend too much time worrying about hitting the rev limiter. Not really that big a deal IMO.

Think about how many 6speed guys miss shifts at WOT and hit the rev limiter.

Your OK. That's all that matters. Thanks for the post. I have both mods and I know that if this had happened with my wife driving the car she would of wrecked.

I't's not dirty, the part that looks like dirt is the bare metal that is standard in the factory MAF, the "cleaner areas" are where I grinded it smooth when removing the center posts. the elements are also clean and just look funny in the pic. I can try to get a petter pic later if your interested, but my wife was fighting sun glare when attempting to take the pic.

Very true, my wife said "$hit like this, is why I don't drive your car!" But I would hate to have seen the outcome if she was

*** EDIT ***

OK that might have been taken the wrong way, I meant that I would hate to see her hurt or distrssed over something I caused with my car. I was not trying to say she wouldn't know what to do, I know it shook me up a little and I would be pissed if I found it happened to her and was my fault because I didn't secure the IAT sensor after cleaning the filter...

BTW, found that when I cleaned the filter I forgot to secure the sensor in the filter.

You never know... she might of been smart enough to kill the engine before putting it in neutral.

TheRev limiter is there to protect your engine from over revving. I ride a rice rocket and they will hit rev limiter pretty quick if you miss a shift. I would think they set the theshold low enough to keep from doing damage. I realize you dont want to hold you car on rev limiter, just imagine if it wasnt there

My limiter was bumped up to 6375, it hit it only about a 1/2 dozen times over the 2 different events, and there are not signes of ill effect at this point...

Yeah from the MAF to the CAI is a fernco 3" - 4" coupler, found almost anywhere that sells plumbing supplies, but I think I did get mine at home depot though.

So, if I relocate it (on the outside of my FIPK box), drill a hole and install, I'll be fine? Sounds like a free mod I didn't know about.

Should be fine that way, I just never drilled the hole and just stuck it down in the filter and made sure the wire was held in place, but after this I think I will be breaking out the drill when I get home to do it right...
