#1 Exhaust Valve Problems
#1 Exhaust Valve Problems
I had just finished my project. It started the first time, no problems. No valve tick nothing, I get on the freeway, has a miss up high, injector not all the way plugged in, and 2 er 3 plugs not connected. Fixed that. Got back on the freeway, come back home and let it idle, ticks like no other. Pull the valve cover and i could pick up the rocker off the stud probably a good 1/8 to 1/4 inch. Readjusted lash, still ticks, took it back apart, it came loose. Readjusted again. Still freakn ticks. I am noticing that the lock on that valve is not going as far down as the other ones.. I can figure it out. I have checked the valve train from lifter up on that valve. Nothing is wrong. I need help!
Thanks everyone.
Thanks everyone.
Sounds like that lifter hoped off the stem and pushed the stem lock down and it came off a little therefore popping up higher. Put a spring compressor on that spring and make sure the lock/keys is in right. Then try it again. You could also try switching rockers around and seee if its the rocker.
I figured it out... my dumb as$ had the roller part of the rocker upside down, so the flat side for the lock to sit was facing the bottom of the stud... Just rolled it around and problem fixed... wow.. whats the luck of getting 1 out of 16. haha. Thanks alot guys.
