+1 For B.R.E. & PCMforless.

Just recently finished doing a cam-only set up. I am running a Bret Bauer custom grind, similar to a LE1.5, on stock heads, 1.6's, 918's, etc.
Everything went together perfect the first time. This is the first cam I have ever degreed ( Or did on a car for that matter ) and the process was really simple. Took no more than say 45-hour. And I checked it several times, using the ICL method, at several points +- from max lift. Everytime, I came up within 3/4 of a degree, which is close enough for me.
The car drives 95% like stock, with the only exception being driving under 10 MPH. Its alot easier to make the car start "bucking" like someone that is learning to drive a stick. Smells a little rich at idle, but I havent gotten it on a wideband yet. Pulls very strong, and after 1500-1600 it pretty much drives exactly like stock. I still havent tached it up all the way yet, but even short shifting the gears a good bit ( 5000RPM ) it feels way stronger than stock. Definatly was worth the extra money to get a cam that is exactly what I wanted.
And its very driveable with Bryans tune. MAY possibly be rich at idle, but I need to get it on a wideband to confirm.
And off topic but I swear it gets better mileage than before
At idle, the car sounds amazing. Idles at/around stock 950-900. Lopes pretty good. Actually sounds similar to a guy I knows CC306.
To anyone considering a BRE cam, or PCMforless tune, I would highly reccomend either of them.

Basically, its slighty longer duration than a CC503, with faster ramp rates, a tighter LSA, and alot more lift. So its definatly not a big cam, but its not so tiny either.
Its like comparing apples to oranges with different lobe designs, ramps, overlap, etc. but put it somewhere between a CC306 and a CC305 or CC503.

Ill try and get a video for you guys sometime this week. All I have is a digital camera, but it does decent video clips, all things considered. Anyone able to host it if I do ? I could always email it out to some ppl. Actually, I think its free hosting on this site for car videos isnt it?
And cam only is, I think, $350ish, I've ordered things from Bret before so he cut me a nice deal. Definatly would be worth the money though for anyone considering. I would rather support the little companies, anyday, over something huge like Jegs, so I actually got the cam, 685, and harness off him, same price as Jegs I believe.

Any chance of getting a vid on how it sounds?
Off topic- I was thinking of swapping to a smaller custom grind for the stock heads, but I want to see what kind of times my car will put down once I work out the bugs and then go from there.
