i havent made it to the track since the other mods(like a year now) so even if i did go, it would be pointless to post the results since i didnt go before the rockers anyway...i have to fix my sig cause i wont be hitting the track again untill this trans is fixed. i dont want to go there and run the same time in my sig but with more mods because of my trans........it sux because i really miss it

Hey, I'm not placing doubt or any disbelief at all on the 1.7's. Heck, I'm switching to them myself on my 224/230 car. I was just wondering if you had any new updates. I remember from your other post that you said it took .4 off of your Tazzo times, which may seem like a bit much, but you did also cut your 60' down too as stated. I totally accept that it made a difference. That's why I'm dropping the cash on the swap after buying 1.6 Comp Pro Mags when I did my head and cam package about 3 months ago.

Sorry for coming off defensive if i did... i would love nothing more than to get some track times with my current setup but its not gonna happen with the trans the way it is so it will be in the spring sometime. when i do ill dig up my thread and post my results....i would watch out for valve cover clearence using those with that cam...........

So your best was a 13.5 with full bolt on car plus the 1.7rr's? That just seems a little high to me. Is it because of your altitude or something?

yes right now it is, But its only because my trans is slipping pretty bad, and it bounces off the revlimiter like 3-4 times every shift...not to mention it is also spinning quite a bit more.......

Yeah drew, take a look at Matty's 60' time...2.28 isn't so hot. If he could cut a 2.0 he'd be around a 13.0.

I was thinking about that, but decided it's worth a shot since I really don't have the lift where I want, and I don't want to do a cam swap to get the lift and pick up another 6* of duration either. If the stock valve covers won't work, then I'll look at a set of LT4's or some custom fabricated ones.

I think I might be OK though because when my H/C got done, the mechanic completely clearanced the stock covers out. No more supports to get in the way. Just gotta order the rockers, slap them on, and see if it works.
