1.7 Rockers with cc306 cam
You could just install the 1.6 rockers on the intakes but you must check your pushrod length and check and your valve spring for clearances unless you know coil bind limits. The 1.6 on the exhaust valves won’t gain you any noticeable hp unless you have a restrictive exhaust system.
Re: 1.7 Rockers with cc306 cam
HI, First time user, I would like some Rocker advice from any/everyone....
I have a 95 Z28 OBD-I 6-speed LT1. The engine has Long tube headers and MSD everything. Future plans include a ported LT4 Intake with nice AFR heads and a custom cam. But for the mean time, I would like to up my power a bit. I was thinking I could get new valve springs and roller rockers, to open up some horsepower for under a thousand dollars. That way I can keep my LT1 together untill It is time for my big rebuild.
So, My question is: Can I put 1.7rr's on stock heads? The car has a stock cam and the engine has never been opened up. it has about 120,000 miles on it, and has had new mobile 1 oil and filter every 2000 miles, since it was new. It runs great, It's just not as powerful as I want.
I realize I will need to get a few things, maybe you can help me figure out what I'll need exactly.
1.7 roller rockers (any brand suggestions?)
Guide Plates
LT4 corvette valve covers, for the extra rocker clearance
and probably new valve springs maybe new retainers (any suggestions that wont require machining the heads?)
LT4 Knock modual
Will I need anything else? Will it work?
can I use my stock pushrods and lifters? (if not, suggest alternative)
Also, has anyone ever used the AFR Hydra-Rev system? is it worth it?
Any suggestions or opinions will be appreciated, I would like to get another 1-2 years of use out of my engine before I really tear into it.
Thanks
