1.7 ratio rockers??
1.7 ratio rockers??
I've seen a few people have used variable ratio rockers and set them at 1.7 ratio. Am I right to assume that this would offer more power than a 1.6 ratio rocker? Does Crane make these, and what kind of valve cover do you have to use with these?
They will only make more power if your cam is set up for them and your heads flow more at a higher lift.
Comp has some of these that need pushrod guide plates (they are not bolt on self algining rockers) they run about $400 a set but that's better than the Shaft Mounts.
I would think you need longer valves and tall valve covers, but you might be able to get away with them.

SAR2K is running 1.7 ratio rockers in his N/A bolt-on LT1 (3500lb race weight). Internally stock except for the Crane variable ratio rockers, Isky valve springs (I wouldn't try running 1.7's on stock springs), and ARP rocker studds....I'm assuming guideplates too, though he doesn't list those on his mod sheet. Yeah, the car ran 11.94 @ 111.50 N/A. Stock heads and cam there, and not an overly light car either, nor anything really crazy done to the car.
Dunno, I'd consider it. Check out his thread in the Drag Racing Forum: http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...threadid=70475
Hey, it worked for him!
