1.6 rockers on stock top end?

If I were to put 1.6 or 1.65 roller rockers on my motor with the stock cam, springs, and everything else, would everything be OK? Would I need: stiffer springs? harder pushrods? What all would need to be upgraded? I haven't put much thought into this but I thought I would post something and see what kind of responses I would get.

Also, what kind of power gains would I see? Do yall think this would be worth the time or not? Again, this would be on stock heads, cam, etc, just wanting to change rockers.

minimal requirement to run 1.6 rockers on a stock motor with stock cam is to use LT4 Valve springs/ locks and retainers which can run ya under 100$ for them.

You will find through research on the board here the Stock springs will bind with the 1.6 rockers...So pick up LT4 Valve springs

I picked up a 1mph gain

I am using stock springs and 1.6 rockers on my '93 with no problems. But, I have read that 93's have a slightly lumpier cam than the 94+ cars, as well as slightly meatier springs.

I ran a set of 1.6:1's on my stock 96 for about 5k miles without any issues. When I pulled the heads to do heads/cam everything was in excellent shape. As a matter of a fact, there was no hint of spring bind when I adjusted the valves with the engine running. I'm kinda curious why everyone recommends against running 1.6's with stock springs???

So I don't necessarily have to change springs but it wouldn't be a bad idea too. What kind of performance do you think I am going to see? Someone said they gained 1 MPH, what has everyone else gained? Has anyone tuned for these rockers, or did yall just bolt em on and go w/ it?

if you plan to continue modifying the car it might not be a bad idea to just go ahead and pick up some nsa with hardened pushrods and guideplates

I have a set of LT4 springs that I'd be willing to put towards the hood you have for sale. Still waiting on pics of said hood. Let me know if you want to work something out.
